'After seeing an example of Alistair’s work at a friend’s in the form of a wedding book, it made me think about the possibility of the same for my Mother.  She had lost her father whilst her mother was pregnant with her, so her father’s history was always of great interest to her. The book proved a lovely gift for her 75th birthday.  She was pleasantly surprised and shocked beyond words! After reading the book a few times she said, “I have been reading through my lovely book of ancestors again and have realised that each time that I read it I learn more. I was always aware of the Jewish connection on my paternal grand-dad's side but I didn’t know that they originated from Germany. On reading it again I find that my paternal grand-mother’s family also originated from Germany. We live in a country that has been conquered by and given shelter to many nationalities which means British is a jumble of all sorts.”
